This primitive Shorebird was created after seeing a pair like it. I enjoy creating carvings with simple form, paint, and reused objects. I collect any old nail I can, with the expectation of using it for an eye or in this case a beak. The beak is always the weakest part, but not on this bird.
This photo is a bit busy, but I do enjoy the different leaves and bright colors. I saw a Junco pair this afternoon, so Winter must be around the corner.
Love this video for the Affrilachian Artist Project.
Yet another cold and windy day. This is one of the few remaining pears on my neighbor’s tree. I’m finding it hard to capture color today with the sky being so dull and gray.
Cock-a-doodle-doo. This rooster is carved from Cedar and is aged to look more like a yard planter — years and years of repaints and crackling from the weather.
