The Folk Art of Greg Goul — Carvings, Inspiration, Nature, and Sketches.

Indiana Folk Art, Greg Goul, Folk Art, Milk Paint, Dark-eyed Junco IMG_1764 IMG_1765

I did a demonstration at the Frankfort Art Show last weekend. I think I rambled and talked about process and inspiration more than actually carving. Well … this is the bird that I started. It’s a Dark-eyed Junco. This bird arrives in Indiana to show the sign that Winter is coming. Sometimes I even see them in October. Not this year though.

This bird is carved from pine, painted in milk paint, and finished with a pine stain.
